Battery protection board: the core guarantee for the safe operation of lithium batteries

Currently, almost all commercial lithium batteries must be equipped with dedicated battery protection boards. These PCB boards are specifically designed for battery safety control, and their core function is to accurately and real-time monitor the voltage status of battery cells and the current value of the charging and discharging circuit in a temperature environment of -40 ℃ to+85 ℃. Once an abnormality occurs, the on/off of the charging and discharging circuit can be controlled immediately to avoid dangerous working conditions such as overcharging, overdischarging, and overcurrent. They are the core barrier for the safe operation of lithium batteries.

The core components of a conventional battery protection board include control ICs, MOS power switches, high-precision sampling resistors, and auxiliary components such as NTC temperature sensors, ID storage chips, and PCB substrates. The control IC is the "brain" of the entire protection board. Under all normal operating conditions of the battery, it controls the MOS switch to remain conductive, allowing the battery to be connected to the external charging and discharging circuit normally; Once the battery voltage or circuit current exceeds the safety threshold, the MOS switch can be controlled to immediately turn off in a very short period of tens of milliseconds, completely cutting off the circuit from the hardware level and protecting the safety of lithium battery use in all aspects.
